Nevada Legislature Discusses Collective Bargaining

From the Reno Gazette-Journal comes a description of the special session.  On page 3 is this passage:

Collective bargaining: Republicans again worked to convince the Democratic majority to soften collective bargaining rights for local government employees. They wanted local governments to have emergency power to re-open contracts in times of fiscal crisis and make negotiations subject to the open meeting law. They tried in vain to tie their support for a budget proposal to the collective bargaining issues. In the end, they settled for a resolution directing lawmakers to study ways to make collective bargaining more transparent during next year's session.
