An invitation from the WAGE Board President...

As a colleague from a fellow independent association, you may be experiencing the challenge of operating in an environment where the AFL-CIO unions have been actively attempting to raid public employees from your organization in order to replace their membership losses in the private sector.

In fact, it is difficult to read or attend anything related to public employee issues that isn't somehow touched by the AFL-CIO unions and their system of using the members' hard-earned dues money to support a national union bureaucracy.

Well, there IS an alternative...

If you would like your independent public employee organization to be part of something different, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join the Working Assembly of Governmental Employees (WAGE).

We've been in existence since the late 1950's, and have served as an effective coordinating body for independent public employee associations across America.

Our goal at WAGE is to preserve and enhance your organization's independence - not diminish it. We respect the right of your organization to make its own decisions about the public policies it will seek, what pay and benefits are sufficient, and how your organization will govern itself.

The process of joining WAGE is begun by completing and sending the New Member Application to our President, along with a request to join WAGE written on your organization's letterhead.
